Two other girls, aged 14 and 15, were questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm and attempting to pervert the course of justice. They had been released on bail.

He said: "Natashia was hit on the head two years ago in the school grounds. Last year she was attacked in Camberley town centre by a girl from the school.

"The Government keeps talking about new academies and league tables but what parents, teachers and police want is to be able to enforce discipline in schools.

Jerry Oddie, the school's headmaster, said: "While the police investigation must be allowed to run its course, the college will be pursuing its own disciplinary procedures when the full facts are clear.

"In that time we have received outstanding Ofsted inspections and last year set a new record for exam passes, so the quality of education here is certainly not an issue.

"In the 10 years I've been here our pupils' behavioural standards have been exemplary, and I aim to ensure that one incident does not alter the work put in to achieve those high standards."
